The material manufacturer (GAF, Owens Corning, Eagle, Boral, etc.) warrants their roofing products against manufacturing defects for up to 50 years. This covers issues like premature granule loss on shingles, structural cracking in tiles, or membrane delamination. Important: This warranty is only valid when the materials are installed by a certified contractor — which is why hiring a licensed, manufacturer-certified roofer is critical.

2. Workmanship Warranty (15-Year No-Leak)

Our 15-year no-leak workmanship warranty covers any leak caused by installation error. If your roof leaks within 15 years of installation due to improper flashing, faulty seam work, or any other installation issue, we fix it at no cost. This is our personal guarantee — we stand behind the quality of our work.

3. Third-Party Guarantee ($250,000 Directoriis)

Golem Roofing is backed by a $250,000 guarantee through Directoriis — an independent third-party verification platform. To earn this guarantee, we passed full background checks, verified our license and insurance status, and met strict quality standards. If a dispute arises and we can’t resolve it directly, Directoriis covers up to $250,000 in damages.

Is a 50-year warranty really 50 years of full coverage?

It depends on the warranty type. GAF’s standard warranty covers material defects for the full 50 years but may prorate coverage after year 10–15, meaning you pay a percentage of replacement cost. GAF’s System Plus and Silver Pledge warranties (available through certified installers like us) provide enhanced non-prorated coverage — ask us which level applies to your project.

What’s the difference between a material warranty and a workmanship warranty?

A material warranty covers manufacturing defects — the shingles crack, delaminate, or lose granules prematurely. A workmanship warranty covers installation errors — improper flashing, bad seam work, or incorrect underlayment installation. You need both for complete protection, which is why we provide both on every project.

Does the warranty transfer if I sell my home?

GAF manufacturer warranties are transferable to the next homeowner within the first 20 years (with some limitations). Our workmanship warranty transfers as well. The Directoriis guarantee is tied to the original project and contractor relationship. We provide all warranty documentation at project completion for your records.
